Om Siddhe-Matre Namah!

One of the key essences of a sastric-text is its self-sufficiency vis-à-vis the sadhaka. In simple terms, it should be able to inject the known concepts into its light. This is where, we take the help of the great Bhasyakaaras/Commentators, who puts them in a simple, precise, concise, succinct, fluent, and cogent way. For eg., take the 1st three names of Sri Lalitha Sahasranama. Here, it is explained how the divine mother plays the 3-in-1 roles:

  1. Sri Matre Namah — Salutations to the Divine Mother, who creates this universe
  2. Sri Maharagnyai Namah — Salutations to the great empress of the universe, who protects & sustains
  3. Sri Srimat-Simhasanesvaryai Namah — Here, the lion aspect of the Mother in instilling fear, retribution, recycling as part of the cosmic order is nicely brought out
