Milking the multiple herds of calf-like looking cows

The clan that invades and weakens the enemies

The golden-creeper of the faultless Gopas/herdsmen

Please come, The one, whose hip/waist resembles the hooded snake, one who maintains her ground like peacock

All your related girlfriends are here at

Your courtyard and singing the cloud-coloured Krishna

One who is not budging, responding, the personification of all wealth

For what, you are having this deep slumber

1. A special devotee of Lord is woken up

2. The calf-like cows are the disciples, who has obtained the necessary para Vidhya (knowledge of the absolute) from the spiritual scriptures like Upanishads, puranas. This para-vidhya is always juxtaposed with Apara Vidhya (transactional knowledge). Saint-poet Sri Thiruvalluvar gives a hint about this in his Kural — 247

அருளில்லார்க்கு அவ்வுலகம் இல்லை பொருளில்லார்க்கு
இவ்வுலகம் இல்லாகி யாங்கு

3. These well-equipped devotees has defeated the atheists and the other sects who were worshipping Gods other than Lord Narayana

4. This devotee is without blemishes; the one with all her karmas exhausted and ready for God-realization. This was demonstrated in Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa’s life; When he was under the guidance of guru bhairavi brahmani amma, one day, he had to gone to Mother Ganga to perform offering for the Pitrus (ancestors). The water did not stay in his hand, slipping away and he could not make the water-offering. Then the guru-amma had mentioned that you have exhausted all your karmas. Such things had happened in many masters’ life

5. In this pasuram/poem, the hip/waist l organ of devotee has been compared to hooded snake; Few observations. The word “அல்குல்” has 3 meanings according the Kamba Ramayana scholars Sri Jataayu and Sri Harikrishnan. It can indicate hip/waist or lateral part of the body or the female genital organ. In general, people mistook it for the 3rd one. The conservatives avoid the description of the word at all and the rabid Hindu-haters take cognizance of the 3rd meaning. In Tamil scripture this word appears many times. One politician by name Annadurai maligned the kamba ramayanam with his sleazy writings and without understanding the proper usage. For comparison sake, ethics and morals of Sanathana dharma are different from Victorian morality. Whenever and wherever it is required, the poet do not hesitate to use it. 6. The intrinsic meaning of the word “அல்குல்” indicates the deeply ripened para bhakti

7. The deeply devoted disciple is dancing like peacock that prances around upon seeing the rain-bearing clouds

8. One who does not do anything that may displease the Lord and does not speak of ill. Their mouth is used to chant Lord’s names at all times

9. Because of the special qualities that the devotee is possessing, she may be the model devotee as quoted by Lord himself

10. When all your karmas are exhausted, when you have great qualities, where is the need to sleep? Please wake-up, my dear
