The birds are chirping in the temple of Lord Narayana (the Swami of Lord Garuda)

Are you not hearing the roar of the white conch

Oh young lass, wake up, The one who suckled the poison (life) off the demoness

The Lord who vanquished the crafty chakatasura

The Lord who is residing on Adisesha/Seshnag amidst milky ocean

the One who is meditated upon by the sages and the yogis

Wake up gently as you can hear the roar of Hari

Fills up your mind and make you joyful , my girls

1. From 6th — 15th , 10 important devotees of Lord Krishna are awakened. A young Gopika is awakened here. And, the great preceptors are giving indication that the Mother Andal is referring to Saint-poet Nammazhawar

2. Here, the Acharyas are referred to Paramahamsa, the supreme Swan, who disseminates the wisdom; they are also considered as “Shrotriya Brahmanishta — enlightened, well versed in scriptures and can pass on the knowledge to others

3. The sound OM/AUM is made of 3 syllables — the middle on “U/உ” meant sustenance and we all know, who sustains this world,

4. The white conch represents the purity state/sattwa guna that we should aspire to achieve for

5. What is the message or roar from the Sankha? It says that the Lord alone is supreme and we are all his servants. Both are intertwined

6. The demon represents the Prakruti. There is a philosophical school of system called “Samkhya”. It is one of the 6 key school systems. It talks about the Purusha (consciousness) and the Prakruthi (matter). In this song, the demon/ பேய் represents the Prakruthi

7. Suckling the demon’s breast is indirectly referring to the locking of the Prakruthi/us’ ego by the Lord. The Lord helps to nullify the ego

8. Crafty wheel represents the kama, krodha, lopa, madha and maatsarya. Lord helps in their decimation too or helps us to put enormous control

9. Where is that lord residing? He is in Yoga-nidra on Lord Adisesha, the primal serpent.

a. The Adisesha represents the kundalini sakthi, that is in the coiled snake form and residing on the base of our spine, Mooladhara

b. Yoga-nidra means “Sleepless sleep — the body sleeps but the inner force that sustains the body does not sleep and act as witness to everything”. This yoga-nidra concept has been imbibed by the Yogis — Sleepless sleep that bring great rest & relaxation to the body, mind and soul

10. Subtly meditated upon by the Munis and Yogis. Munis are thinkers, who provides Spiritual and transactional guidance to the society, whereas the yogis are practitioners and propagators of any form of Yoga — Karma, Gnana, bhakthi, Rajayoga. Here Muni represents the enjoyer of Gunas of the Lord and the Yogi is the one who finds bliss in service

11. The two, Muni and Yogi finds their incompetence to practice Bhakthi yoga; hence, they surrender to Lord with loud chants of “Hari”. This name refers to God, who takes away all the sorrows of his devotees
