1. BB and Wimbledon were made for each other. Despite brits were not friendly with Germans, this golden boy was immediately accepted as their own. How can one forget his ace performance in winning 85 (defeating kevin curran from SA), 86 (against Lendl) and 89 (against Edberg). In between, he lost 2 finals to Stefan edberg (in 88 and 90). He lost finally to Pistol Pete in 1995 and that signed-in a new era. After his demolition, Nirmal Shekar (The Hindu newspaper sports writer) gave a sub-headline — boris becker alias double decker alias lendl-wrecker. Like Agassi, in his earlier years, BB was maintaining his cool and played cheerfully. His fall across the net irritated Patrick cash like anything in 1988 SF. Thanks BB for the wonderful episodes

2. Stefan Edberg (the only swede who survived against the Milsolav Mecir, who had slaughtered most of the swedes at that time including Mats Wilander, Nigel lyndstrom etc) played 3 classic finals against BB and won 2 of them in 1988 and 90. He was more in the mould of Borg and a perfect Gentleman, while winning or losing

3. In between that great rugged unpredictable Patrick Cash won the 1987 wimbledon, out of turn. With his perfect server and volley, he decimated Lendl for the 2nd time in a final

Those were awesome highly competitive years!
